Pastor Sonja T. Sloan

Pastor Sloan loves Jesus Christ with all of her heart and is committed to doing the work of the Lord. She has a devout passion for the church and prayer. She and her husband, Elder Benny Sloan, pastor a new church plant in Greensboro, NC called Dominion Church.

Evangelist Sloan received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling Education from NC A&T State University. She is employed as a Professional School Counselor and has worked for over 20 years in the Guilford County School System. She has a great desire to improve the well-being of young people.

Evangelist Sloan is passionate about prayer. She has served as an Intercessor and Prayer Leader for the International Prayer and Fasting Center in High Point, NC. At Triad Christian Center, she served as a Prayer Class instructor, Intercessory Prayer Team Leader and the Pre-Service Prayer Leader and Coordinator. From this passion, Evangelist Sloan produced a Prayer CD in 2013 called “Let Us Pray.”

Evangelist Sloan feels that she is called to help the church and leaders of the church. As a licensed Evangelist with the Church of God in Christ, she feels that God has given her the gift of wisdom along with prophetic intercession to encourage, motivate, and inspire individuals to be all that God has called them to be. Because of her spiritual gifts, she has ministered at various seminars, churches, and conferences around the country.  She also serves as a Prayer Captain and Executive Prayer Team Member for the COGIC North Carolina Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.  

Evangelist Sloan feels her most important roles are being a loving wife and dedicated mother. She is the wife of Benny F. Sloan, Jr. for over 22 years. God has blessed them with three wonderful

children, Benjamin, Isaac, and Madison Faith.
